I was having a conversation with a dispie (I'm an amillie) the other day and there was mention of Jesus' conversation with Nicodemias in John 3:3-7. Supposedly, since Nicodemias was from national Israel, the "born again" concept was for the nation of Isreal and that it was *not* for a reference to us today but to the nation of Israel at the second advent.

Can anyone explain this concept of born again?

Thanks!

I have never heard of such a concept! I have never met a dispensational that thought like that either. That's terrible! :D

Yes, it seems that you are dealing with an incredibly odd dispie. I have heard it said and it may very well be true that those who desired to become Jews went through a process by which it was said that afterwards they had been born-again. If this is the case then Jesus' point was that not only Gentiles and Jews as well must be born again.

The passage says that anyone who is not born again will not enter the kingdom of God, so it would seem rather odd indeed to say it only applies to the nation of Israel.
