Does anybody know of a reasonably-priced boys camp in or around Colorado? My son is homeschooled and I would like for him to go to a camp for a week this summer, but in checking around, the prices of most camps are alot! $2,500 - $5,000. That is usually for a month's stay, which is really too long for us anyway. Anybody know of a reasonably priced camp for boys? (We may be too late to go to one THIS summer anyway, but just thought I'd ask.)
Thanks,
CarolK

Wow, that is a very high priced vacation! Carol, may I recommend sending your son to a young peoples retreat of a reformed or presbyterian church. I am not sure, but our sister PRC church in Colorado usually has a retreat like this. They usually last a week or 2. You can check on the website is you would like www.prca.org (http://www.prca.org) and check out coming events:)

Yes, I would be interested in that, Ray, but don't most churches send their children to camp in a group? I will check it out though. I know there are lots of freewill religion camps but I wouldn't want to send him to one of those, so I was just thinking of a secular one.
Thanks,
Carol

Yes they are in a group, which is moderated(and I mean moderated:) ) by adult chaperones from PRC churches. They do pick out a camp for the retreat. They also have different retreats for different age groups.
If you want me to see if I can send a link through, just let me know. There would be , I hope, other reformed and presbytery churches that also have young people retreats who are still solid doctrinally by you.

Carol. Just make sure you program the kids never to use the following phrases.
"I have CHOSEN to swim instead of canoe"
"I have DECIDED to sleep a little later"
Your kids will just wake up and find themselves swimming or doing everything without even realizing it. That is how strong providence is at PRC camps!!!!!!!!!!
Ray sorry, my day at work is a "dunghill" as you say, I could nto resist!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

LOL. Well, I just talked to a WOMAN pastor at the Highlands Camp you posted, and SHE said there were kids there with all kinds of beliefs, freewill & not. They mostly focus on God's love for everyone. And their theme this summer is on God's calling, how to know if God is talking to you and what to do with it. Mmmmmm.

Yes, Ray. That would be nice if you would.
Thanks Ray & Joe!

Joe , I am astonished at your tardiness. You forgot to mention the all important rejection of any well meant offer to go swimming, canoeing or what have you. Shame on you Joe:)

Carol, I regret to inform you that one ended last week, and the other for the older children just started and it's over in Redlands, California. That is it from what I can see for this year.
Maybe you could contact the RCUS denomination and see if their retreat has taken place.
