  1. Progressive sanctification by J.C. Philpot

The Two Natures in a Believer
    By J. C. Philpot

Among those branches of divine truth which, without special teaching, we
cannot enter into, is, that of the two natures in a believer. And yet, though
every child of God must in all ages have been experimentally acquainted with
the inward conflict between flesh and spirit, nature and grace; and though
authors innumerable have written on such subjects as sanctification, the trial
    of faith, the ...

  2. A good devotion written by Cheung

The creation waits in eager expectation for the sons of God to be revealed. For the creation was subjected to frustration, not by its own choice, but by the will of the one who subjected it, in hope that the creation itself will be liberated from its bondage to decay and brought into the glorious freedom of the children of God.

We know that the whole creation has been groaning as in the pains of childbirth right up to the present time. Not only so, but we ourselves, who have the firstfruits ...

  3. "I will do all My pleasure"

    Grace For Today Don Fortner
    OCTOBER 10 ISAIAH 46: 10 DAY 284
‘I will do all my pleasure’
    Read Romans 9:10-26
The God of heaven is infinitely, totally and absolutely sovereign. It is
written, ‘Our God is in the heavens; he hath done whatsoever he
hath pleased’ (Ps. 115:3). ‘Whatsoever the Lord pleased, that did he
in heaven, and in earth, in the seas, and in all deep places’ (Ps.
    135:6).
My friends, there is no possible alternative between ...

  4. Texas Heatwave

A few days ago it was reported on CBS News that Wichita Falls, Texas (where I live) had more days over 100 degrees than any other cities in the United States. That means we beat Phoenix, Arizona by a few days. That was true a few days ago anyway. Even that was not hot and dry enough for us. We ate jalapenos and had fires all over the state just to make it a little bit warmer.

That's how we roll in Texas!

  7. Christ Dying for The Sheep Alone

Here is an old article I wrote a long time ago, I was just re-reading some of my saved documents. Im sure its on PNet some place but I thought Id share it again:

The Great Shepherd and His Sheep

God’s Word uses analogies a lot to explain what its like to be a part of God’s family, it uses words such as sheep, goats, and wolves. God makes a distinction between sheep and the goats/wolves. Knowing and understanding His Word when it comes to this will help one to know ...

  9. The Pride Behind Freewillism

by on 05-29-2011 at 07:14 PM ("Happy is the man that findeth wisdom, and the man that getteth understanding." Proverbs 3:13)
While re-reading The Bondage of the Will by Martin Luther, I came across an interesting statement touching on the freewill subject. This got me thinking about why affirming freewill is a matter of human ego.

"That is to say: a man without the Spirit of God does not do evil against his will, under pressure, as though he were taken by the scruff of the neck and dragged into it, like a thief or footpad being dragged off against his will to punishment; but he does it spontaneously ...

  10. The Impotent god of a Sovereign People?

The Impotent god of a Sovereign People?
No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws him. And I will raise him up on the last day.”(John 6:44 ESV); Vincent Cheung, an outspoken and widely known Christian of our day says this regarding God’s sovereignty in our salvation: “you think I will tell you, God has sent Christ to make salvation possible (emphasis mine) for everyone, even you, so that in the end you will determine your own destiny…… But God has not left even ...
