I found this posted on another forum and thought I'd share this. Jesus was not God 'And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God.' (Matthew 19:17) 'And Jesus said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God.' (Mark 10:18) 'And Jesus said unto him, Why callest thou me good? ...
A final word should be added here concerning the nature of true liberty. There are three chief things concerning which men in general greatly err: misery and happiness, folly and wisdom, bondage and liberty. The world counts none miserable but the afflicted, and none happy but the prosperous, because they judge by the present ease of the flesh. Again; the world is pleased with a false show of wisdom (which is "foolishness" with God), neglecting that which makes wise unto salvation. As ...
Being sensible that I am unable to do anything without God's help, I do humbly entreat him by his grace to enable me to keep these Resolutions, so far as they are agreeable to his will, for Christ's sake. 1. Resolved, that I will do whatsoever I think to be most to God's glory, and my own good, profit and pleasure, in the whole of my duration, without any consideration of the time, whether now, or never so many myriad's of ages hence. Resolved to do whatever I think to be my duty and ...
In any treatise that proposes to deal with the human will, its nature and functions, respect should be had to the will in three different men, namely, unfallen Adam, the sinner, and the Lord Jesus Christ. In unfallen Adam the will was free, free in both directions, free toward good and free toward evil. Adam was created in a state of Innocency, but not in a state of holiness, as is so often assumed and asserted. Adam’s will was therefore in a condition of moral equipoise: that is to say, in Adam ...
I heard a comment on this book today and thought I'd share. On p. 219(The purpose driven church), he states(Rick Warren), “It is my deep conviction that anybody can be won to Christ if you discover the key to his or her heart . . . . The most likely place to start is with the person’s felt needs.” The people at his church would get more benefit in going to a Monster Truck Rally than his church.
This happened last year I'm not sure how many people saw it, but I just remembered it and thought I'd post it. Mister Splashy Pants the whale - you named him, now save him International — Out of 11,000 submissions in our competition to name the humpback whales we were tracking on their migration to the Southern Ocean, we narrowed it down ...
I just recently listened to a couple sermons on the Roman catholic mass. http://www.gty.org/Resources/Transcripts/90-318 http://www.gty.org/Resources/Transcripts/90-319 Now being raised in roman catholic heresy, I found out how ignorant I was to what the whole mass portrayed. Also growing up you hear about black masses going on and how satanic they are, but if you think about it. that abomination that Rome does is alot more satanic because it tries to potray that it's holy, ...

In view of the awful solemnity of the subject here before us, in view of the fact that today almost all—even those who profess to be Calvinists—reject and repudiate this doctrine, and in view of the fact that this is one of the points in our book which is calculated to raise the most controversy, we feel that an extended enquiry into this aspect of God’s Truth is demanded. That this branch of the subject of God’s sovereignty is profoundly mysterious we freely allow, yet, that is no reason why we ...

In Christ alone my hope is found He is my light, my strength, my song This Cornerstone, this solid ground Firm through the fiercest drought and storm What heights of love, what depths of peace When fears are stilled, when strivings cease My Comforter, my All in All Here in the love of Christ I stand In Christ alone, who took on flesh Fullness of God in helpless babe This gift of love and righteousness Scorned by the ones He ...
Hi I found this posted on another forum and thought I'd share it. "I am a poor, weak creature; unstable as water, I cannot excel. This corruption if too hard for me, and is at the very door of ruining my soul; and what to do I know not. My soul is become as parched ground, and an habitation of dragons. I have made promises and broken them; vows and engagements have been as a thing of nought. Many persuasions have I had that I had got the victory and should be delivered, but I am deceived; ...
