I, for one, am happy to learn that you are at least out of pre- or mid- tribulationism. That is a more stable basis for genuine and biblical discussion in my estimation. More to come later.

      Hi Bob,

Thank you very much for your greetings and the sentiments you expressed.

Also, I would like to express to you my sincere sympathies to you on the passing of your Dad. I notice that Brandon has posted a recorded audio message of your address at the funeral. I will try to listen to this sometime.

Out of interest, I recall that you were a Seventh Day Adventist Pastor for a few years; was your Dad a staunch SDA when he died or had he 'got out of it' just like you did?

Did your Dad have a big impact on you in terms of spirituality and theology? Or were these things developed in you by the Spirit in a distinctly individual and independent way?

I'm genuinely interested to hear your responses because I have always had great regard and respect for your THINKING AND REASONING ABILITIES and your fine capacity for THEOLOGICAL CRITIQUE.

      In Christ, Craig

My thoughts are with the Higby family.

This is a very good message from Bob. It serves as a reminder of the many wonderful things still to come in the experience of the elect.

      Craig,

My father left SDAsm in 1981 in the same time-frame as I did. The primary influence was from me toward him and not vice-versa, as I was the one who had studied the gospel issues in the unction of the Spirit and communicated them. We were part of a nonconformist movement that was separating from that church at the time.

The majority at the service were SDAs as that is the religious 'heritage' of my family. So my message, though not compromising the truth, was proclaimed in that context. The SDAs do not practice shunning of those who have departed from the church like the JWs, Amish, etc. do.

I will respond to your 6 key points soon; it may not be until the weekend.

Grace and peace in the true gospel,

      --Bob
