This guy should have called me.

In my past encounters, among the unregenerate, the atheists often ask the best and most pertinent questions! This guy sees the implications of Isa. 45:7 while 99+% of 'evangelical' preachers do not! The contrast between the creation theories by the last minister is the same old stuff we see constantly in the media. Who has considered the possibility that BOTH theories (six 24-hour days and six day-ages) miss the point of Genesis 1 entirely?
I've heard atheists say they can't believe the bible because if God is like what the evangelical says he is, "sovereign", then he has total control and created sin and evil and they could never worship a "monster". The evangelical's response is "no he did not!" The response is intellectually dishonest. My response is "Yeah He did, so why does that make God a monster?"

So called "professing Christians" have said something similar. My problem was not with the atheist, but with the responses of the religionists.
Those who say they will not worship a 'monster God' who predestines all things include almost all of 'evangelicals'. They betray the same attitude toward our sovereign God as the athiest does, saying 'God, if you don't behave according to the rules that are pleasing to me, I won't worship you!'
Amen Bob. The evangellyfish are essentially atheists.
I second that Amen!
These are the waters the nincompoop swims in.
