"Now grace in the heart of one child of God will ever unite with grace in the heart of another. If there be jars and divisions, if there be dispute and contention in churches and among individuals, let not these be fathered on religion. It is not grace but lack of it that gives them birth and maintains them in being. So far as grace rules and reigns, so far as the life of God is made manifest in the conscience, there is a blessed bond of union among the family of God. This bond of union may indeed lie very deep or be much hidden and covered—the brook of love that once flowed strong and clear may be diminished to a trickling rill—circumstances may separate the chief friends—ministers may be divided, churches split, congregations dispersed, the dearest ties severed—because iniquity abounds the love of many may wax cold. But love itself can never die, for life and love are so one that love can only die with life, and life the with love." -J.C. Philpot

    Thanks!

Yeah, that's a very relevant and encouraging verse for me. Being a Christian student in Boston is really eye opening, but I've been blessed with a great Christian community that has helped me so much in my walk with Jesus through college!

I posted in the SDA forum at CARM for a while, I got a warning, and the popular ones were congratulating one another, and the ones who agreed with what I was saying withdrew, a couple encouraged me in pm, I got tired of the b.s.....being popular is never the criteria that Jesus goes by....in fact He told us the opposite would happen....and He's right, of course imagine that!

I have read a bit on occasionalism and agree with the concepts. I have read a lot of Vincint Chung. Could you refer other resources for me to look over? Thanks

Human compassion is deceptive and impotent. When we set that up as the standard of
judgment, even God will appear to lack sympathy. ......"Better is open rebuke than hidden love" -- Love is bold to speak the truth in open rebuke for the benefit of someone who needs the correction. Each time I speak this way to a person, I risk losing his respect and support, but I will do it because I love him. "There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear" (1 John 4:18), Vincent Cheung
