- Biography
- I was saved July 14, 1996. The Lord is calling me into the ministry. I belong to a Southern Baptist church that does not ascribe to reformed theolgy. My pastor is ardently against Calvinism. I am basically a calvinist in hiding. My wife says she can not accept Calvinism. She believes it to be a cruel sysytem of believes. My two favorite nationally known preachers are John McArthur and R.C. Sproul. I believe like Charles Spurgeon that Calvinism is only a nickname (one of derision given by its opponents). I believe the Lord has shown me the truths about the doctrine of unconditional election. To me it all falls down to the view of the depravity of man. Our Lord has grown me so much since I have accepted this doctine. I love His Word so much more, and appreciate my salvation more that I can ever imagine. Sometime I do feel like I am somewhat alone. Just about all of my Christian friends are 100% against Calvinism. Unfortunately, my pastor got a hold of Dave Hunt's awful book and believes it to be a great book. I know that I am not really alone because it is the Lord that is showing me these things.
