Biography
Raised a "free-will" Southern Baptist, had a stint in the UPC, now attend a Presbyterian church.
I hold to the 5 solas and the Canons of Dort and believe they are in line with Holy Scripture.
I reject Pelagianism, semi-Pelagianism, Arminianism (classical, Wesleyan, and contemporary) , Roman Catholicism, Pentecostalism, free-willism, moralism, emergent church types, and feel sorry for teetotalers who call things God made evil.
I believe that salvation is by grace alone through faith alone in Christ alone according to the Scriptures alone, with all the glory going to God alone.
I believe that election and predestination do not amount to salvation, but one can't be saved without being elected and predestined to do so.
I think that's it...
I have come to believe that "the church" is definately not a building or a denomination or an authoritarian institution, but a gathering of God's elect in Christ on the basis of the Gospel of Grace.
Oh yeah, I do enjoy beer, preferably German or Dutch (lager or ale, doesn't make a difference), though I'm not dogmatic. and I smoke cigarettes and cigars.
