    False Gospel and True Gospel

So I have a big question.. something I was starting to struggle with earlier this week but didn't know how to ask it, or wasn't even clear to me until now. In another forum Kentucky Kid said that Mormans have a false gospel because their gospel teaches that salvation is conditioned on man while true gospel is conditioned on Christ. So are Christians who believe that God predestined them yet have the choice to accept or not (which so many Christians are confused about) are they believing the true gospel? if not it would be a false gospel and they wouldn't be saved right? If so.. that makes me scared because then most people I know at my church wouldn't be saved. Hmm going to need some help with this one...

You don't need to worry! God is in perfect control of history and is absolutely capable of saving his elect in his own time and method!

We are not called to try and discern whether men truly worship their own choices or submit to the sovereign God of the universe. If their innermost desire is to worship their own choices and shake their fist at God's sovereign election--then YES, they believe a false gospel and are most certainly LOST! But our calling is to teach the truth and leave the results to God. We do not have to sort out who is definitely elect and non-elect based on the present confessions of men. If it is clear to us that someone is passionately wedded to a false gospel (as it sometimes is), based on his/her clear and unmistakable defense of the doctrines of devils, then I am convicted that we have to seriously question the election of that person. But a lot of this is subjective and semantical--many who are ignorant of a lot of issues (based on false teachings in churchianity) state words that they do not mean or understand! It is those individuals that the Lord has called us to reach with his marvelous and infinite gospel truth!
Now see here how sleepy-headed all our opponents are, and how little it helps a man to rely on the ancient fathers, for all their repute down the course of the ages! Were they not all equally blind to, yes, and heeldess of, Paul's clearest and and plainest words?

So.. if someone does believe that they choose whether to follow God or not, yet God knows who will they wouldn't have the true Gospel? I'm just wondering also how do you try and share the true Gospel, God electing people and how God is in control with people who believe that we have a choice to reject or receive salvation? A lot of times I've tried and they just wont understand. Do you keep trying? How do you approach it? Just thoughts.. 'cause so many of my friends believe that people have a choice in their salvation.

When time permits, these were of immense help to me and give one a mighty arsenal and makes one ready to give an answer of the hope of salvation

.....like I said , when time permits. It is easy to shortcut these articles to you. Yet when you have such an urge to find the truth and to get your hands dirty with the Lord's Word it is such a blessing to understand just how firm a foundation we have. Wisdom is His to give. Proverbs 8.

I had to grow in knowledge and understanding. I had to search the Scriptures like the Bereans to see if these things were true and not posture with some vain allegiance.Articles themselves have fruit, yet the study of the Scriptures in conjunction with what is stated give more wisdom and understanding, gifts which come from the Lord.

One thing confronted me when asked questions of the hope that lies within me. I had to find the answer. The other was not to really care....... that really is not an option
    Greetings and salutations, el rana

'I've met base their relationship to God on their emotions, not on THE WORD'

Surely 'relationship' is as uncertain as are 'the emotions' they might or might not generate. The Gospel is information about a past, historical event.

    Peace,

Re: False Gospel and True Gospel

Yes, the gospel is a message grounded in a past and certain historical event! It is not subject to the emotional whims and variances of the centuries.

so many of my friends believe that people have a choice in their salvation

Well--you, I, and all of us here know that they are wrong! If God has elected someone to eternal salvation, no 'choice' of man will prevent that person from being saved unto eternal life! Those elected to salvation will invariably and willingly choose to submit to God's purposes of redemption in the person and work of Jesus Christ. So no one can choose to opt out of it if they are included in the election of Grace!
Now see here how sleepy-headed all our opponents are, and how little it helps a man to rely on the ancient fathers, for all their repute down the course of the ages! Were they not all equally blind to, yes, and heeldess of, Paul's clearest and and plainest words?

Re: False Gospel and True Gospel

Hi MCoving I'm responding to your post (#1) in this thread where you quoted me. For lack of time on my part, I just wanted to address your question concerning MY post, I'm sure you'll learn alot more from other's inputs in the forum. I had said the charismatics have another gospel than the true gospel, I never mentioned the Mormons (although they have a false gospel also). I had mentioned salvation conditioned on man, and salvation conditioned on Christ. The regenerated elect believe the true gospel - that their eternal salvation is conditioned on what CHRIST ALONE has done in His coming, living, dying , and resurrection for them. Every other religious person who professes to be a Christian (no matter what sect , denomination, or cult) believes that salvation is conditioned on their christ + something. Whatever it is, it will be christ + baptism, or christ + my faith, or christ + my choice or christ + something - anything depending on their denomination or tradtion, or anything but "Christ and him crucified". Christ tells the elect: "Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment" (John 7:24)...judge according to THE WORD..........KK

Thanks! I'm going to be reading over it tonight. I decided to spend some time at home just going through Scriptures, and reading forums I have printed out. I just need this time with the LORD, I'll be hanging out with my friends tomorrow night.
