This is likely due to the logon timeout. When you have not loaded a page on the website for approx. 15 minutes, your session will be automatically logged out. If you are composing a post during this time, upon hitting Submit you will be informed that you are no longer logged in.
To avoid losing posts because of this, I would recommend either checking the "Remember me" check box at login (and subsequently clicking "Log Out" when finished browsing the website). If you get the error message, you can usually hit your browser's Back button to recover the post by copying and pasting it later after logging in again.

Something I like to do is type up my post in Microsoft Word and then hit reply, copy and paste, enter the necessary quotation fields, smiley faces, etc...This also helps with spelling which I stink at, not to mention some of the others here who need to take advantage of that as well.
