    Imparted Spiritual Life?

Okay so I've been studying some of Bill Parkers articles lately.. I've never heard it said this way.. what do others think?

"Salvation is based on the righteousness of Christ freely imputed and received by faith. Salvation is not based on any so-called imparted righteousness. Again, it is true that no sinner will be saved without the work of the Holy Spirit imparting spiritual life, saving faith, true repentance, Godly love, and humility, but all of these things point us to Christ and His righteousness alone as the only ground upon which God will save sinners and entitle them to Heaven. As John Bunyan wrote, "There is no other way for sinners to be justified from the curse of the law in the sight of God, than by the imputation of that righteousness long ago performed by, and still residing with, the Person of Jesus Christ."

    Re: Imparted Spiritual Life?

Hi Mary- KK here.........since I hear Bill preach 3 or more times a week, I think I can say that what he is saying: "imparted spiritual life" means this....................when we who are elect are born into this world, we are already justified by God, but we don't know anything about being justified by God because we are spiritually dead. When we become "born again", or regenerated, the Holy Spirit imparts to us spiritual life whereby we can believe the only true gospel as it is being presented to us. From then on we have enough understanding of God's Word to see that we are justified by the righteousness of Christ + nothing. How do we know what we didn't know before? Because the Holy Spirit "imparted spiritual life" into us. I believe the article you mentioned is excellent for it shows the difference between those who believe that Christ's righteousness is only imputed (charged) to the elect, and that they have NO righteousness of their own; and those who today believe that Christ's righteousness is infused into them (they say imparted), and that they somewhere within themselves have a nature that doesn't sin...........I heartily recommend the Reign of Grace website, they have alot of good articles which supports the true gospel...............KK

I thought this article of Bill Parker was a wonderful confession of the true gospel and fully agreed with it. I have other significant disagreements with Bill.
Now see here how sleepy-headed all our opponents are, and how little it helps a man to rely on the ancient fathers, for all their repute down the course of the ages! Were they not all equally blind to, yes, and heeldess of, Paul's clearest and and plainest words?
