Participation of the Body

Anyone have ideas on a good way to open dialogue and discussion in the body after a teaching session? And still have it be a time where the men will be encouraged to lead and to use their gifts in keeping with scripture? And to what extent could the women be involved and still be scriptural? I wholeheartedly agree that the New Testament does not provide the example of a "one man" show. We are a gathering with mostly new followers of Christ and I don't want to do it all. We have a separate meeting time before our service, for womens meetings and mens meetings, but I am talking about our combined service after one of the men, usually me, brings the Word.

I suggest a question and answer session where mature beleivers are called upon (and you too) to answer any questions focusing on the teachings of the past week. But not limited to just the formal teachings. This allows an open dialogue where you do not have to have an agenda. If things get complicated you graciously ask if the question can be handled off line (privately). This also allows ownership of the teaching by those who may not be as mature. If they feel free to ask any question publically they will have confidence that you are not trying to hide anything and it allows relationships to build.

You must be diplomatic or it can also become a urination competition...which you do not want.
