St John 6:66
66From that time many of his disciples went back, and walked no more with him.
I hope this will spark some thought and discussion. In my studies I came across this verse. I find its linkage to this context :
jn 6:
60Many therefore of his disciples, when they had heard this, said, This is an hard saying; who can hear it?
61When Jesus knew in himself that his disciples murmured at it, he said unto them, Doth this offend you?
62What and if ye shall see the Son of man ascend up where he was before?
63It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.
64But there are some of you that believe not. For Jesus knew from the beginning who they were that believed not, and who should betray him.
65And he said, Therefore said I unto you, that no man can come unto me, except it were given unto him of my Father. 66From that time many of his disciples went back, and walked no more with him.
The crowd had been following Jesus for the food and in the mean time he preached the Gospel of Gods sovereign grace and mans inabilty which are both gospel truthes christ himself preached as we see here..
In vs 65 He states two truthes # 1 mans in ability [no man can come unto me] and Sovereign election [ except it were given him of my father]
Vs 66 says that from that time many of his disciples went back or drew back similar to apostasy.. and walked no more with him..
The thing about vs 66 in the original the word time is not there , its added by the translators, so here is the emphahsis if we take the word time from the verse..
vs 65-66:
65And he said, Therefore said I unto you, that no man can come unto me, except it were given unto him of my Father.
66From that many of his disciples went back, and walked no more with him.
It would appear that the emhasis is on the fact of the saying of Gods sovereignty and mans inability is so repulsive that the people stopped following after christ..
Some may say I already knew that but this is very unique to me that a verse emphasizing mans hatred of two High grace truthes such as Gods Sovereignty and Mans depravity would be in a passage or verse 666 , what you think..
ps brandon if this is something that needs to be in my blog then let me know and I will move it there though I thought it a good discussion topic..

I know, does not take much.
