McLaren's Attack Against the Doctrines of Hell and the Substitionary Atonement

Some of you may have already seen this, but for the others that have not, I thought I'd share this.

A friend and I were discussing why the Lord allows these people to profane His Holy Name so. My friend shared this verse with me.
Deuteronomy 13:1-3
1"If a prophet or a dreamer of dreams arises among you and gives you a sign or a wonder, 2and the sign or wonder that he tells you comes to pass, and if he says, 'Let us go after other gods,' which you have not known, 'and let us serve them,' 3you shall not listen to the words of that prophet or that dreamer of dreams. For the LORD your God is testing you, to know whether you love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul.
Also another verse came to mine as well.
2 Thessalonians 2:11
Therefore God sends them a strong delusion, so that they may believe what is false,
I wonder if God is judging those who are following this heresy? As indicated with the therefore talking about the previous verse - for those who are perishing, because they refused to love the truth and so be saved.
Anyways I welcome any thoughts on this.

McLaren's teachings are no doubt heretical on this and many other issues but I believe some make the mistake of attacking McLaren and ignoring the reasons why McLaren is capable of being as successful as he is. Many churches have abandoned Christ-centered and cross-focused preaching. They may pay lip-service to the cross but it is not central to their sermons. They would rather give morality lessons or preach about the errors in some other church or give the seven steps to something or other. The cross is unpopular. Paul saw Jesus Christ crucified as the central teaching of the Gospel but other things constantly take its place in the modern church--altar calls, doctrinal lectures, and a bunch of other stuff.

Very correct Charles. This stuff being labeled under the guise of Christian theolgy is blasphemous! It is pure bankrupt existential, mystical ,syncretistic, Garbage!!!!!!
