What does Jesus mean here with this statement ?
Revelation 2:18-29 And to the angel of the church in Thyatira write, 'These things says the Son of God, who has eyes like a flame of fire, and his feet are like fine brass: 19 "I know your works, and your love and faith and service and endurance, and your last works are greater than the first. 20 But I have this against you, that you tolerate your wife Jezebel, who calls herself a prophetess, and she teaches and leads my bond-servants astray to fornicate and to eat things sacrificed to idols. 21 And I gave her time to repent and she does not want to repent of her fornication. 22 Behold, I am throwing her into a sickbed, and those who commit adultery with her into great tribulation, unless they repent of her works, 23 and I will kill her children with pestilence, and all the churches will know that I am He who searches the minds and hearts, and I will repay each one of y o u according to your works. 24 "But to y o u I say, to the rest who are in Thyatira, as many as do not hold this doctrine, who did not know the deep things of Satan, as they say; I do not place another burden upon y o u. 25 But hold fast what y o u have until I come. 26 And he who overcomes and who keeps my works until the end, to him I will give authority over the nations-- 27 'And he will shepherd them with a rod of iron; As clay vessels they will be shattered'--as I also have received authority from My Father; 28 and I will give him the morning star. 29 "He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches."'
To keep God's works in the context is to not engage in fornication with Jezebel. Jezebel (probably a symbolic name) was telling people it was okay to engage in worldly idolatry to some degree and compromise their faith.
For whatever strength of arm he may have who swims in the open sea, yet in time he is carried away and sunk, mastered by the greatness of its waves. Need then there is that we be in the ship, that is, that we be carried in the wood, that we may be able to cross this sea. Now this Wood in which our weakness is carried is the Cross of the Lord, by which we are signed, and delivered from the dangerous tempests of this world.--St. Augustine
Yes, Jesus is speaking.

well i believe that jesus is saying that he that keepeth my works , which are works that he did and accomplished , will rule the nations..Yes, Jesus is speaking.
The works he accomplished are those in which he reconciled and redeemed His people from their sins..All that is implied in what he accomplished for the people of God in pursuant to covenent of grace. Basically He saying those who continue in the faith of the true Gospel of God will rule with me because that manifest their eternal union with me..
Is this where you are going with this question?
John 6:28 "Then said they unto him, what shall we do, that we might work the works of God?"
John 6:20 "Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent"
And of course, the remainder of the chapter.

yes I think this is implied though I think this moreso teaches us that believing is a work of God as in eph 1:Is this where you are going with this question?
John 6:28 "Then said they unto him, what shall we do, that we might work the works of God?"
John 6:20 "Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent"
And of course, the remainder of the chapter.

17That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him:
18The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints, 19And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power,
If you knock off the comma between believe and according It would read:
19And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe according to the working of his mighty power,
Whereas I believe Jesus is saying something more to the tune of this:
jn 8
30As he spake these words, many believed on him. 31Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed;
In other words their perseverance in the truth would prove their eternal election to be his disciples..
So Jesus doesn't know how to say what he means?
