It would appear that since some of these companies are deemed "too big" to be allowed to fail due to market influences--and hence the professed "need" to bail them out with government funds; new anti-monopoly legislation is needed to prevent a single (or a small number of)companies from HAVING (or gaining) so much influence on the overall economy.

But perfect love drives out fear" (1 John 4:18), Vincent Cheung

What we need is the government to consume a little of itself and not "WE THE PEOPLE." We need the government to take it's hands of the free market. Companies should have the right to pay it's executives whatever it wants to pay in bonuses. However, these businesses should also be allowed to fail. That is what having a free market is all about.
Rom 8:18-21, (NASB), For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory that is to be revealed to us. For the anxious longing of the creation waits eagerly for the revealing of the sons of God. For the creation was subjected to futility, not willingly, but because of Him who subjected it, in hope that the creation itself also will be set free from its slavery to corruption into the freedom of the glory of the children of God.

I for one 100% agree with you ... If the gov't would keep it's "policies" out of the free market it would correct itself and capitalism does work as far a good economic system to run by. The current USA gov't will do all it can to destroy our liberties and individual freedoms. I also believe that there will be a major shake up in a year and half. It is my prediction that the democrats will be replaced by republicrats and hopefully the spending will be slowed down.

A 100% tax rate and the fact that the president of the united states fired a CEO should cause concern for most of the american public. It doesn't because we are bringing up a bunch of "sheepole" that expect the gov't to feed, cloth, and house them because they are entitled to it.

    THANKS FDR!!!!

This is a ridiculous situation we the people find ourselves in.
    It is what it is

    I know! That's insanity!

Most of the people that I talk to, especially Obama fans, do not have a clue to what their president is doing. Their world seems to only extend a few feet out around them and they don't see much further.

When the pocket book of the rich starts to close to the poor and prices of things go up, then the poor will also be paying. Those that think that they will not pay more, because they make less that $250,000 a year live in a fantasy land.

John: Most of the people that I talk to, especially Obama fans, do not have a clue to what their president is doing.

True! And this will continue to be true for many of them until God forcibly and certainly hits him in the face and turns the diarrhea running out of his mouth into blood! People are still deceived by his smooth and lying words promising everything to everybody, which is what got him elected. I don't care what anyone thinks; I know that to be a fact as much as anything cited by anyone.

Trillions of new debt in the first 100 days lauded and commended as a salvation of the country from ruin can only be espoused by the greatest political deceiver in history.
Now see here how sleepy-headed all our opponents are, and how little it helps a man to rely on the ancient fathers, for all their repute down the course of the ages! Were they not all equally blind to, yes, and heeldess of, Paul's clearest and and plainest words?

Agreed! His tenure will run out some day (sooner better than later) ... The results of his anti american agenda will hopefully be rejected by "the people" ...

I heard someone say yesterday, that it looks as though by his talking down and apologizing for America to other countries, that it appears as though he doesn't even like this country. I thought this was an interesting observation.

He does not like this country. In fact, his hatred for everything this country is is blatant and "out of the fullness of his heart, his mouth speaks".

I despise his ENDORSEMENT of what the Europeans and Latin Americans say about America without even attempting to demonstrate the good that America has done, EVEN WITH COUNTRIES WITH WHICH SHE HAS CONFLICTS. One only needs to find the web site of USA Aid and read the astronomical numbers in dollar amounts that America sends to other countries!

In spite of all the above, I find a DEEPER motivation on the part of Obama to ENDORSE America haters: He REALLY sees himself as the great "messiah" of the world and uses his ENDORSEMENT of America's haters to make them look upon him as their "big leader". He is a former activist "community organizer" who thinks that he can use the same methodology to manipulate the entire world into being DEPENDENT upon his "services", of which three are: to DIMINISH, DEVALUE, and DESTROY America's influence and power among the Nations. In other words, OBAMA is a MEGALOMANIAC who believes that he can be the LEADER OF THE WORLD who wishes to be recognized as so by enabling people to be haters of everything America IS, up to the point in which he came on the scene!

A weaker America is the perfect ground for him to fulfill his MEGALOMANIAC dream! MEGALOMANIACS grow in everything else's weakness. Strength is their enemy. Hence the weakening of America on Obama's part.

He is a MEGALOMANIAC, world leader wannabe!

    May God save America!

    Obama goes on "apology tours."

    Re: The 2008 Economic Crisis

The U.S. is a superpower and world leader. It cannot escape its debt like Argentina did twice, EVER! Some are deceived into thinking that this is possible; it isn't. EVERY BIT of the trillions of debt that the Federal government has assumed must be paid back at some point. Sure, there will be default once economies of scale are breached. But default does not erase debt, it only postpones the repayment of it and destroys the power of the government to borrow money. This awful but absolutely truthful fact, once accepted, is the only thing that will pave the way for a different future.

Why was Ben Franklin over making deals with the French to temporarily borrow money to pay the Revolutionary War debt? He KNEW that what I just said above is true! Even the screwed-up, inflationary, dollar-devaluing economy of that time did not erase this fact one whit.

Socialism will not succeed ultimately. Its very premise is that debt can be infinitely accumulated and never will have to be paid off. But that premise is WRONG!
Now see here how sleepy-headed all our opponents are, and how little it helps a man to rely on the ancient fathers, for all their repute down the course of the ages! Were they not all equally blind to, yes, and heeldess of, Paul's clearest and and plainest words?

Thought provoking article in the American:

The Coming of the Fourth American Republic
Ditch the Garbage! - Too many people are proud of their humility - I, on the other hand, am not humble - and am proud of it!

"Luther's New Testament was so much multiplied and spread by printers that even tailors and shoemakers, yea, even women and ignorant persons who had accepted this new Lutheran gospel, and could read a little German, studied it with the greatest avidity as the fountain of all truth. Some committed it to memory, and carried it about in their bosom. In a few months such people deemed themselves so learned that they were not ashamed to dispute about faith and the gospel not only with Catholic laymen, but even with priests and monks and doctors of divinity." - A complaint by German humanist Johann Cochlaeus.

    Re: The 2008 Economic Crisis

Corruption in government is now almost universal and is ignored entirely as a 'diversion from the greater goals and good'. We are quickly rushing into a situation like Mexico and other nations in Latin America. The arguments being advanced now by Democrats and Republicans are like those who would propose that murder or any crime in the past doesn't need to be investigated because it detracts from focusing on the needs of the future.

    Re: The 2008 Economic Crisis

My brother recently returned from China. His comment that really stuck to me was that China right now is more of a free market than America is. They are moving away from communist idealogy as we move towards it. China will be a force in the next generation. They are a Godless country and the government there is still a dictatorship tranny. This will cause some interesting changes in the world. The China GM plant is the only plant for GM that shows a profit. HMMMM !!!! Would labor unions be the reason why? They are building GM cars for the Chinese. They aren't building them to ship them back here (yet).

I wonder if the American people will really lie down and quietly continue being sheepole or will we make changes in 2010. Only God knows!!

    Re: The 2008 Economic Crisis

The depression for farmers and agricultural workers is worsening by the day in California's Central valley, caused 100 percent by the horrors of Federal government totalitarian rule. Millions of acres of fruit and nut orchards are destroyed. This awful situation shows us how ugly government power can become and what we will be facing in the near future.

Does anyone like summer peaches, nectarines, and plums? You will wonder what happened to them this year.

The story is neglected by the mainstream media but here is one recent update:

Now see here how sleepy-headed all our opponents are, and how little it helps a man to rely on the ancient fathers, for all their repute down the course of the ages! Were they not all equally blind to, yes, and heeldess of, Paul's clearest and and plainest words?
