There is a shortage because people see that their gun rights are in jeopardy. Most big stores like Walmart and Bimart do not have box limits and when ammo comes in they will allow anyone to buy as much as they want and empty the shelves, then of course there's a domino effect. Most of the small gun stores do have ammo and most of them place box limits on their customers. The main reason for the "shortage" is the panic of consumers and rightly so, taxing guns and ammo is the way that the new administration is going to go after our rights. So buy it up now where you can find it, tomorrow it could double, triple or quadruple in price.

Would you not stock up on bread if it was in jeopardy of increasing in price like guns and ammo are?

    Re: The 2008 Economic Crisis

Whatever anyone thinks, the evidence clearly indicates that the 'double dip' of this recession (depression?) is about to begin. Right on schedule, the 4th quarter, as economists that I think know what they are talking about predicted last February.

The true national unemployment rate is 17%, when the unregistered (those who never applied for unemployment compensation, like myself, or those who stopped dealing with the frustrating government unemployment agencies and also those who scrape by with meager part time income) are counted.
Now see here how sleepy-headed all our opponents are, and how little it helps a man to rely on the ancient fathers, for all their repute down the course of the ages! Were they not all equally blind to, yes, and heeldess of, Paul's clearest and and plainest words?

Agreed Bob. And I'm afraid I see depression due to the nature of this economy AND the changing demographics. The baby boomers have reached PEAK SPENDING. And as this is a consumer driven economy, it will slow as the boomers start to slow their spending. I don't see any real recovery until after 2020 when the echo boomers start to come into their heavy spending years.

"Luther's New Testament was so much multiplied and spread by printers that even tailors and shoemakers, yea, even women and ignorant persons who had accepted this new Lutheran gospel, and could read a little German, studied it with the greatest avidity as the fountain of all truth. Some committed it to memory, and carried it about in their bosom. In a few months such people deemed themselves so learned that they were not ashamed to dispute about faith and the gospel not only with Catholic laymen, but even with priests and monks and doctors of divinity." - A complaint by German humanist Johann Cochlaeus.

No matter what the economy does or does not do, For me and my wife we keep it simple.

Rule number 1: Stay out of debt if possible.
Rule number 2: Pay off all debts rather than purchasing non-essential items.
Rule number 3: Live within your means. Do we really need a 73" DLP high def tv?
Rule number 4: If you do not have the cash to purchase an item that is non-essential do not charge it (debt spend). Credit cards should be used for emergencies only, unless you play the point game to earn rewards or cash back on your purchases. However save the cash from your income to pay these cards off when the statement arrives.

These are controllable factors if you have any sort of income.

A little common sense goes a long way.

I have not given up credit cards only because my wife loves this point game, particularly for airline miles! But I have watched the Capital One airline benefits go down to about half of what they once were. Others jumped on the bandwagon only after C.O. reduced their benefits. It was a great deal way back in 1998--but I'm not so sure now. The bottom line is, what the credit card companies are after is this: the time will come when a crisis will happen in your life and you forget to make your payment before the due date--bingo, they cash in!

Btw, I pay off all my credit card balances in full every month and never accumulate any revolving debt.

    Re: The 2008 Economic Crisis

I don't think it is at all about a recession but a caculated attempt to bring down the nation. Of course this nation will stand or fall according to God's good purposes no matter how ugly the political assualt. It's nothing new under the sun. Visibly and invisibly it's a spiritual battle that's been raging for thousands of years. The mass agenda of those placed in power in our Federal government currently is trying to be railroaded in the blink of an eye. It's all Marxism plus a hidden aspect of Islam. The outcome will not be a moderate shift to the left or even hard shift on the so called political spectrum but actually a beheading of Uncle Sam . That said in terms of looking through the human eye.

As we know nothing happens unless it is according to God's will and there is an eschatalogical time line and an ordained course of events. People in times past and now have speculated or even declared exactly where we are in that timeline. I'm not predicting anything but one thing I'm sure we can agree on is not to be asleep and unaware of the sign of the times. Marantha!

    Re: The 2008 Economic Crisis

It's all Marxism plus a hidden aspect of Islam.

I would challenge this a little bit. Marxism and Islam are not forms of government. The first is a dream-world view of the most perfect notion of socialism and the second is a persecuting religion. In theory religion and politics are SUPPOSED to be separated in the constitutional republic of the United States.

Yet, in another sense, you are right. The current trend of governments is to incorporate the pleasing of Islam as a core part of their politics. This is strictly out of a fear of the consequences if they do not do so. Islamic government is the most triumphant form of fascism in history.

There are really only 4 forms of government:

    1. Anarchy
    2. Monarchy
    3. Fascism
    4. Liberty bound by the limits of subordinate law (Libertarianism). This is NOT the equivalent of the libertarian PARTY in the U.S. in any sense.

Socialism (or its most extreme proposed form, Communism) does not really exist and has never existed. There is and never has been a government that is PURELY concerned with taking care of the poor through redistributing wealth and not also exercising POWER over the consciences of mankind. All socialistic theories ultimately result in totalitarian fascism. A government always emerges that demands total control over personal thought/conviction, business, and property.
Now see here how sleepy-headed all our opponents are, and how little it helps a man to rely on the ancient fathers, for all their repute down the course of the ages! Were they not all equally blind to, yes, and heeldess of, Paul's clearest and and plainest words?
