    Re: The 2008 Economic Crisis

Some of the arguments being advanced against physical gold:

    1. The government has record of large gold purchases or any that are purchased online with credit.

    2. If there is no government record of a purchase, one still has to store the gold in a secret place (subject to gang theft in a depression), a safe deposit box (subject to confiscation in a depression), or move out of the country with it to one which is more secure (and which one can you count on?).

All I am saying is that there is no form of protecting your assets where your main security is anywhere else than in God! Gold is certainly a good (maybe the best) option but there is none foolproof. Some right now believe that Singapore has replaced Switzerland as the safest place to put major assets (whether money, gold, investments, etc.).
Now see here how sleepy-headed all our opponents are, and how little it helps a man to rely on the ancient fathers, for all their repute down the course of the ages! Were they not all equally blind to, yes, and heeldess of, Paul's clearest and and plainest words?

Maybe we are coming out of a hyper inflation. I know in Oregon voters voted to put a cap on property taxes so the next year the state went out and doubled even tripled the value of homes so they could rake in more doe. My wife and I are looking into buying a home this year and until now buying a home seemed next to impossible if we were to live within our means (and we do well).

Brandan: they'll print and print and print I think. There is no other way out for the gov't, and they know it.

There is a difference between inflation and hyper-inflation, of course. But in a depression where there is little credit to be extended, the govt. will not be able to print enough money to stem the tide of deflation. We may see some inflation in the near term but it will not last a real long time.

I do not see a depression (15%+ unemployment) starting until at least next year and probably 2011 but it will last many years after that. In the near term we may see a false recovery that will be very short lived & it would be inflationary.

There is another way out for the govt.--CONFISCATION OF WEALTH. It is their easiest way out and they will do it. Prepare to have your IRAs, gold, savings in excess of a certain dollar amount, large insurance policy cash values, brokerage accounts in excess of a certain amount, and every form of wealth taken by the government. Socialists end up doing this every time. They will claim not to be stealing--they will issue an IOU and ration your money back to you as they see fit!
Now see here how sleepy-headed all our opponents are, and how little it helps a man to rely on the ancient fathers, for all their repute down the course of the ages! Were they not all equally blind to, yes, and heeldess of, Paul's clearest and and plainest words?

Stockpile non perishables, water and ammo and start stuffing cash into your mattresses. I've decided that the best thing to do is the exact opposite of what the Obama administration recommends.

    That's funny. Now I'm confused.
Rom 8:18-21, (NASB), For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory that is to be revealed to us. For the anxious longing of the creation waits eagerly for the revealing of the sons of God. For the creation was subjected to futility, not willingly, but because of Him who subjected it, in hope that the creation itself also will be set free from its slavery to corruption into the freedom of the glory of the children of God.

    Re: The 2008 Economic Crisis

Good one Mike! For many years I have explained govt. math like this:

    Legitimate math: 2 + 2 = 4.
    Govt. math: put the two digits together, 2 + 2 = 22

When legislators have 4 billion dollars in revenue they always assume they have 22 billion to spend! Reality, not fiction.

I totally agree brother! To avoid a revolt, The FED (private central banks) will print, the Government will borrow from the Fed. And the continued debt will increase for us and our children and their children.

    The balloon must eventually bust.

    Re: The 2008 Economic Crisis

The extent and breakdown of the Federal debt is secret.

    1. The govt. sold most all of its gold long ago to make the deficit appear lower.

    2. The FED simply writes off as much of the debt as it can get by with without an inflationary backlash.

    3. The govt. can only finance part of its debt from the FED, we don't know how what percentage this is.

    4. The govt. can only print/borrow so much and maintain economies of scale. Eventually, the interest owed would be so much a portion of the budget the remainder could not be funded.

Once the govt. cannot borrow more without destroying economies of scale, it will confiscate wealth big time.
Now see here how sleepy-headed all our opponents are, and how little it helps a man to rely on the ancient fathers, for all their repute down the course of the ages! Were they not all equally blind to, yes, and heeldess of, Paul's clearest and and plainest words?

That's what inflation is. I think this is the form it will take because it's a lot less noticeable.

IT AIN'T YOUR MONEY TO SPEND! ©

2009, Words by Steve Jones, Music by Kathleen Stewart

    Don't spend my grandson's paycheck.
    He's only two years old.
With Obama in the White House,
    His future's bought and sold.
    Stop this immoral spending spree.
    Stop assaulting our liberty.
    Let me help you comprehend:
It ain't your money to spend.

    Born and bred for freedom.
Got me a lot of rights.
    They're all but disappearing
    Before your fiscal appetites.
You're taking the fruit of my labor
    To give your next-door neighbor.
I'll say it from beginning to end:
It ain't your money to spend.

It ain't your money to spend.
You're acting like a bunch of jerks.
I'm the one who earned it.
    I'm the one who works.
    Your income redistribution
    Doesn't jibe with the Constitution.
So I got a little message to send:
It ain't your money to spend.

You started a spending orgy and then,
You made me long for Georgie again.

You gave some cash to ACORN.
    Those folks are so corrupt.
All the pork and all payoffs,
It makes me want to erupt.
    Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi,
The scariest folks since Bela Lugosi.
    Let me help you comprehend.

    Re: The 2008 Economic Crisis

All my life, I've known the communists were coming after us.

    This is from freerepublic.
    http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2201756/posts
Barack Obama is a hard-left idealog (communist) who is hell-bent on bringing the US to its knees.

He, and his movement, are winning.

This WAR, and it is a war, cannot be won merely by voting for another politician in 2,4, or 8 years.

If you continue living as you have, you will wake up in 5 to 10 years with no freedom to speak of. Not to mention you and your family being destitute, sick, powerless, and very, very depressed—suicidal or homicidal.

It won’t go well for this country—ESPECIALLY this country.

It will not fall neatly for the left.

They will have to kill many, many people.

But don’t think that will mean you can fight your way back to freedom. By then, it will be far too late.

A culling will lessen their burden—fewer to fight, less to feed, more in fear which will breed passivity and compliance, etc.

    It’s coming, Americans.

I was warning people about communists gaining ground in this country back in the early 90’s—and I was labeled an “extremist”, or an “alarmist”.

Americans are spoiled and, as of right now, showing no signs of being able to comprehend what is happening to them.

They are innocent and naive—aka, DUMB; aka, easy-pickin’s for the communists.

Did you think the communists just gave up and went home? Do you think communism just faded away?

The KGB spotted our greatest weekness decades ago. Not our greatest weakness as the USA, but as humans.

They discovered they couldn’t beat you with weapons. They merely changed tactics—and you might as well have been sleeping.

With all of their power, and all the time they had to wield it, they learned how to effectively manipulate the masses. They researched the human mind and how best to subdue and ultimately use it against you.

Specifically, how to use your ethics (your prime directive) against you (political correctness, white guilt, wealth guilt, success guilt, and on, and on).

They have guilted you into surrendering that which you said you would “die” to defend—and you gave it up without so much as a whimper.

You’ve been under attack for decades—never the wiser.

The left is fighting a war—the rest of America is wondering: “What the hell is going on?”.

Barack Obama is setting you up. He is LETTING THE ECONOMY ROT to grow fear in your hearts—to cloud your minds—to make you YEARN FOR RESOLUTION.

Then, he will offer the GRAND SOLUTION, the panacea. “I will take care of you. I will take the pain away.”

You think you are above this? When your children are losing weight, suffering illness, and hungry—YOU WILL GIVE IN.

YOU WILL DO ANYTHING THEY TELL YOU.

THIS is the left. These are the communists your grandfathers warned you about—and you blissfully, ignorantly, believed defeated.

    “It can’t happen here.”

You think you are shocked at what is happening in the US now.

You have witnessed only a glimpse of what is to coming for you.

"Luther's New Testament was so much multiplied and spread by printers that even tailors and shoemakers, yea, even women and ignorant persons who had accepted this new Lutheran gospel, and could read a little German, studied it with the greatest avidity as the fountain of all truth. Some committed it to memory, and carried it about in their bosom. In a few months such people deemed themselves so learned that they were not ashamed to dispute about faith and the gospel not only with Catholic laymen, but even with priests and monks and doctors of divinity." - A complaint by German humanist Johann Cochlaeus.

This is the best way for us to quell the dems and stop them in their tracks.

    Re: The 2008 Economic Crisis

I think the article that Darth provided is most timely and pertinent. Don't expect the false recovery that is now underway to be as good or lengthy as what is implied though; I don't believe it is sustainable to more than late summer or at latest the fall of this year.

Now see here how sleepy-headed all our opponents are, and how little it helps a man to rely on the ancient fathers, for all their repute down the course of the ages! Were they not all equally blind to, yes, and heeldess of, Paul's clearest and and plainest words?
