Ahhhhh yes, Monte Collier aka "red beatle".
He had some decent syllogisms but loved the OC law as a means of justification.......like the rest of the pharisees.
He has quite a "slant" on things he seems to see here, and seems to have alot of bitterness IMO(especially with you BK....lol)
Jn 14:23-24, (NASB)
Jesus answered and said to him, "If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our abode with him. "He who does not love Me does not keep My words; and the word which you hear is not Mine, BUT The Father's Who sent Me.
Too bad he misrepresented me. I asked him for the script he read from and he said he'd send it in a week. I'll prepare a quick response at least to show where I was misrepresented (ie. - my position is not based on St. Nick's paper, I DO think the Gospel can be found throughout the WHOLE BIBLE, etc....)

Well Now........I guess we have bowed our knees to the Roman Church according to this fellow. His slanderous statements will never stumble Christ's true elect bride. For they hear the voice of the Master Himself and will not follow another.
How willfully ignorant that fellow really is. If that fellow was only honest enough to have read all that I have said about Romanism, he would not have made his wild claims.
The attack dogs are out there, and let them be. They are only manifesting their ignorance.
It is the reformed ecumenists, eating their mystical bread (sacraments) who are no better than Papists.
I have read nowhere on this site where we follow Paul only! The confessions are not my final authority. None of them! Christ and the true Gospel alone enlighened by the Holy Spirit, is who I will forever follow.
Let the battle continue. For it is Christ's battle not mine. Christ will crush all His enemies, and I am extremely blessed and humbled that I could serve under the great King Jesus Christ.
The speaker made many slanderous accusations that are not true at all.
However I expect that kind of tone.
I have no hatred or animosity for this poor misguided fellow, but only pray that Christ would make him an honest man.
For the cause of Christ and truth,
Nicholas![]()

It's obvious he never thoroughly read through the threads on James but simply decided that he knew what they said without a thorough investigation. I personally don't care if he has a differing opinion but to misrepresent without even properly reading or quoting the source goes to show his agenda. Apparently being truthful is a quality that he is lacking though being religious is something he excels in.

LOL. WOW! This guy has nothing better to do with his life than make up some youtube vidoe of your beliefs?! Its absurd! Its unloving and unbiblical. Who cares? I mean honestly so what if you believe James to be uninspired. So what about all those little beliefs.. the doctrinal differences. Its just stupid if ya ask me.. its about Christ, what He did for the elect.. about the Gospel. I dont get why people have to get so bent out of shape over things like the book of James or what not. Man this guy needs a life! lol

It sounds as though he's purposely misrepresenting you. Everything he is saying needs to be addressed point by point, and posted in the free section.![]()

He is so distorted, twisted, illogical, and confused that he is not worth listening to on most things. I'm totally convinced that He doesn't know what he himself believes on what constitutes unity of faith in the gospel.
The allegation about a belief in 'Paul only' as teaching the gospel is an outright lie and something that has NEVER been promoted or taught on this forum AT ALL, PERIOD! We believe the Old and New Testaments of scripture (minus James) to be inspired and infallible. No one here has ever challenged John, Peter, Luke, Mark, or Matthew as the spokesmen of Christ. We have certainly affirmed the PRIMACY of Paul and confessed that he was the one to whom God first revealed and entrusted the FULLNESS of the gospel, i.e., the gospel in its most mature affirmation possible in human language.
The fact that any of us disagree with Clark, Gill, Hoeksema, or Beebe on certain points is not paramount. The evaluation in this tape is clearly bibliolatry (really James idolatry); it exalts James above the gospel itself as what REALLY constitutes agreement or disagreement with any theological teacher.
The claim that what Nicholas published on James was the reason why we hold our position shows how little RB knows about what we really believe here. While Nicholas certainly broke new ground on the issue in his fine series, the position we held to was already established LONG before that appeared as evidenced by all the threads.
I, for one, disagree with the Roman Catholic argument. The doctrine I am opposing most in denying the canonicity of James is the Protestant teaching on the third use of the law (works based assurance). James stands or falls with it. Melanchthon, Bucer, and Calvin are responsible for introducing this false doctrine into Protestantism. Luther in his early years had nothing to do with it; hence he had nothing to do with James in the canon since it would point to the law and its works as a basis for assurance! We owe the 66 book canon to the third use of the law, nothing less, nothing more.
After this, I'm going to change my signature to the quote from Gary Crampton of the Trinity Foundation on Luther's view of the canon--the one that Monty and Sean Geraty repudiate. I repeat my call for TF to pull Gary's book from their offerings or else ask him to change his book to affirm that Luther denied sola scriptura.

Now see here how sleepy-headed all our opponents are, and how little it helps a man to rely on the ancient fathers, for all their repute down the course of the ages! Were they not all equally blind to, yes, and heeldess of, Paul's clearest and and plainest words?

I find it interesting that Monty (Red Beetle) would claim that my study of the letter of James (so-called), was the influence behind Brandan.
That is a downright lie!!!!!!!! In fact it was this very forum, and the thread pertaining to James, that caused me to ponder and pray on this issue.
I had even made a public statement to that fact. In fact, I even wrote to Brandan, and stated how the Lord had opened my eyes to the errors of the letter so-called James.
Monty is devious, and is not at all interested in "truth". That is my personal opinion.
He slandered and misrepresented myself and others on this forum, just not long ago.
He is truly a Pharisee and a liar in my opinion!
However, I do not hate (disagree yes!) this man. My prayer is that the Lord would show mercy unto him.
Monty, if you are reading this, please try to get your facts straight before you open your big mouth! You do not realize how much of a fool you sounded like.

Here is an arminian ex RC guy that while his views on Christ are ridiculous, his experiences with the red bug don't seem to be so different then yours Brandan. Though I don't think this guy could be as mean, harsh and arrogant as you.

Gary Crampton makes a very important observation in his work “By Scripture Alone: The Sufficiency of Scripture” (The Trinity Foundation, 2002), pp. 205, 206.
“The author (Fastiggi) correctly states that Martin Luther regarded the Epistle of James as an epistle of straw. But Luther was not denying the principle of sola Scriptura by making this claim. He questioned the validity of James, considering it to be of lesser value than other New Testament books.”

Dispensationalists make me "Hyper-ventilate".
It looks like Monty is just looking for trouble. I don't mind being critiqued - or if he makes a video critiquing me. What I dislike are the lies he said about me - and I believe the laws of this country prohibit that.
Anyway, I don't need to refute Monty - you all have done a fine job pointing out his lies. Thanks! - Brandan

Here is my first post with the new signature.
I want to clarify something; I have NOT changed my earlier claim of many years that James was accepted into the Protestant canon around the time of the Diet of Regensburg and after--strictly to PLEASE THE PAPACY. I stand by that completely. What I am saying is that the professed motif for their change was something different than outright conformity to Papal doctrine. The alleged doctrine of 'justification before men' in James ('men' including one's self--hence works based assurance), based on the law's Third Use, gave the Protestants a false comfort that they were not mere compromisers and paved the way for the 66 book canon as the standard of orthodoxy vs. heresy.

For those who claim that Luther changed his position, this is from a Table Talk near the end of his life:
We should throw the Epistle of James out of this school [Wittenberg], for it doesn’t amount to much. It contains not a syllable about Christ. Not once does it mention Christ, except at the beginning [Jas. 1:1; 2:1]. I maintain that some Jew wrote it who probably heard about Christian people but never encountered any. Since he heard that Christians place great weight on faith in Christ, he thought, ‘Wait a moment! I’ll oppose them and urge works alone.’ This he did. He wrote not a word about the suffering and resurrection of Christ, although this is what all the apostles preached about. Besides, there’s no order or method in the epistle. Now he discusses clothing and then he writes about wrath and is constantly shifting from one to the other. He presents a comparison: ‘As the body apart from the spirit is dead, so faith apart from works is dead’ [Jas. 2:26]. O Mary, mother of God! What a terrible comparison that is! James compares faith with the body when he should rather have compared faith with the soul! The ancients recognized this, too, and therefore they didn’t acknowledge this letter as one of the catholic epistles” [LW 54:424].
Now see here how sleepy-headed all our opponents are, and how little it helps a man to rely on the ancient fathers, for all their repute down the course of the ages! Were they not all equally blind to, yes, and heeldess of, Paul's clearest and and plainest words?
