    Debate in BK's State

Brandan, are you going to the Biden/Palin debate this coming Thursday?

    Re: Debate in BK's State

The presidential debate has proven to be just restatements of what each has already said but the VP debate should be interesting. Bi-polar Biden vs. unaware Palin. It should prove to be scarry. She's a former Buchanan supporter and I'm hoping he has found some way to sneak inside and bring her back to her senses.
For whatever strength of arm he may have who swims in the open sea, yet in time he is carried away and sunk, mastered by the greatness of its waves. Need then there is that we be in the ship, that is, that we be carried in the wood, that we may be able to cross this sea. Now this Wood in which our weakness is carried is the Cross of the Lord, by which we are signed, and delivered from the dangerous tempests of this world.--St. Augustine

    Re: Debate in BK's State

I, for one, have no interest in the dog and pony shows that they call presidential (or vice presidential) debates nowadays.

I have EVERY interest that the insider trading which the congressional leaders have been involved in be investigated and punished to the fullest extent of the law. I want every politician that was involved in it, both Democrat and Republican, in jail for a very long time. Bush and the Congress have tried to cover all this up with the current bailout bill (which is a smokescreen--we have no true emergency). The guilty are probably at least half of the members of the House and Senate!
Now see here how sleepy-headed all our opponents are, and how little it helps a man to rely on the ancient fathers, for all their repute down the course of the ages! Were they not all equally blind to, yes, and heeldess of, Paul's clearest and and plainest words?

I totally agree Robert. This action amounts to nothing less than organized extortion and thievery. Oh and by the way, where is the Government going to get this money to bail out? Our Government is bankrupt and trillions of dollars in debt to the moneychangers. I guess they will just have to borrow more from the same crooks who print money out of thin air.

I listened to the debate on radio - it was joke - they are only useful for propaganda purposes. As for the members of Congress- AGREED! JAIL THEM!
Ditch the Garbage! - Too many people are proud of their humility - I, on the other hand, am not humble - and am proud of it!

"Luther's New Testament was so much multiplied and spread by printers that even tailors and shoemakers, yea, even women and ignorant persons who had accepted this new Lutheran gospel, and could read a little German, studied it with the greatest avidity as the fountain of all truth. Some committed it to memory, and carried it about in their bosom. In a few months such people deemed themselves so learned that they were not ashamed to dispute about faith and the gospel not only with Catholic laymen, but even with priests and monks and doctors of divinity." - A complaint by German humanist Johann Cochlaeus.

    Joe:

    The debate was hilarious: http://www.nbc.com/Saturday_Night_Li...debate/704121/

My favorite was when they asked Obama about his foreign policy and he said that if diplomacy didn't work he would just play the race card. I listened to a round table on NPR just a couple hours ago and the people on there were real surprised after watching the debate that Obama's foreign policy is almost identical to McCain's with the exception of Iraq. I couldn't believe it took these political commentators this long to figure that out. Maybe I should try to get into the business.

    Re: Debate in BK's State

Charles: Obama's foreign policy is almost identical to McCain's with the exception of Iraq.

In past and present rhetoric, I agree completely. In future practice, there will be no difference whatsoever. Both McCain and Obama will pursue the same policy with regard to Iraq and Afghanistan. But these foreign policy issues only distract from the fact that all members of congress currently need to be investigated for criminal activity in the financial realm. Just as an example, Dennis Hastert got off the hook on this one by leaving congress! He KNOWS that he is guilty and could go to jail for the rest of his life for his past insider profits if the truth were to come forward!
Now see here how sleepy-headed all our opponents are, and how little it helps a man to rely on the ancient fathers, for all their repute down the course of the ages! Were they not all equally blind to, yes, and heeldess of, Paul's clearest and and plainest words?
