    Re: Flu shot

The mercury, 2nd most deadly toxin to humans will keep me from ever being vaccinated again. The 70's swine flu vaccine was linked to thousands of neurological problems in people including paralysis and even death. This "pandemic" is nothing more than fear-mongering by the world health organization and a media diversion from the collapse of free societies.

How many died in the H1N1 pandemic of 1918? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1918_flu
The global mortality rate from the 1918/1919 pandemic is not known, but it is estimated that 10% to 20% of those who were infected died. With about a third of the world population infected, this case-fatality ratio means that 3% to 6% of the entire global population died.[12] Influenza may have killed as many as 25 million in its first 25 weeks. Older estimates say it killed 40–50 million people[4] while current estimates say 50—100 million people worldwide were killed.[13] This pandemic has been described as \"the greatest medical holocaust in history\" and may have killed more people than the Black Death.[14]
I don't think this is fear mongering - this is a legitimate concern.

    Re: Flu shot

An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure”

Prevent Swine Flu - Good Advice Dr. Vinay Goyal is an MBBS,DRM,DNB (Intensivist and Thyroid specialist) having clinical experience of over 20 years. He has worked in institutions like Hinduja Hospital , Bombay Hospital , Saifee Hospital , Tata Memorial etc.. Presently, he is heading our Nuclear Medicine Department and Thyroid clinic at Riddhivinayak Cardiac and Critical Centre, Malad (W). The following message given by him, I feel makes a lot of sense and is important for all to know
The only portals of entry are the nostrils and mouth/throat. In a global epidemic of this nature, it's almost impossible to avoid coming into contact with H1N1 in spite of all precautions. Contact with H1N1 is not so much of a problem as proliferation is.

While you are still healthy and not showing any symptoms of H1N1 infection, in order to prevent proliferation, aggravation of symptoms and development of secondary infections, some very simple steps, not fully highlighted in most official communications, can be practiced (instead of focusing on how to stock N95 or Tamiflu):

    1. Frequent hand-washing (well highlighted in all official communications).

    2. "Hands-off-the-face" approach. Resist all temptations to touch any part of face (unless you want to eat, bathe or slap).

    3. *Gargle twice a day with warm salt water (use Listerine if you don't trust salt). *H1N1 takes 2-3 days after initial infection in the throat/ nasal cavity to proliferate and show characteristic symptoms. Simple gargling prevents proliferation. In a way, gargling with salt water has the same effect on a healthy individual that Tamiflu has on an infected one. Don't underestimate this simple, inexpensive and powerful preventative method.

    4. Similar to 3 above, *clean your nostrils at least once every day with warm salt water. *Not everybody may be good at Jala Neti or Sutra Neti (very good Yoga asanas to clean nasal cavities), but *blowing the nose hard once a day and swabbing both nostrils with cotton buds dipped in warm salt water is very effective in bringing down viral population.*

    5. *Boost your natural immunity with foods that are rich in Vitamin C (Amla and other citrus fruits). *If you have to supplement with Vitamin C tablets, make sure that it also has Zinc to boost absorption.

    6. *Drink as much of warm liquids (tea, coffee, etc) as you can. *Drinking warm liquids has the same effect as gargling, but in the reverse direction. They wash off proliferating viruses from the throat into the stomach where they cannot survive, proliferate or do any harm.

The H1N1 vaccine is no different than the regular flu vaccine other than it contains a different strain of the flu virus. I consider the vaccine an "ounce of prevention" Also all that Nick posted is good advice.

One other thing - swine flu deaths are being linked to obesity as well. So get trim and stay fit. It's another form of prevention.

The H1N1 vaccine may also not prevent you from getting the H1N1 virus - particularly if the virus mutates within the next year. If it does mutate to a more deadly form, the vaccine may prevent a terminal case. Right now, it looks like the H1N1 virus is currently mild and has high transmissibility amongst school aged children and the transmission rate appears LOW amongst adults. When this thing mutates to high transmissibility amongst adults, then look out - that's when death rates COULD climb. Take a look at this website - http://www.singtomeohmuse.com

Good point! And I agree. The vaccine is a preventative measure also.

My only concern for God's people, is that they are fully persuaded in conscience to either accept or refuse the vaccine based on research they believe to be true.

For all..just do not act out of fear, intimidation, frenzy, or emotion. Be sure for yourselves!

Speaking for myself, I have not taken flu innoculations and do not currently desire to take them. I have practiced such alternative methods as outlined in my post that have been sufficient for me. But that's me!

I can only speak and act for myself on this issue. For those who are at rest recieving the treatments, go for it.

    It is a liberty issue.

Here is another article that I find one of the most informative on the issue, if all positions are to be considered.

Now see here how sleepy-headed all our opponents are, and how little it helps a man to rely on the ancient fathers, for all their repute down the course of the ages! Were they not all equally blind to, yes, and heeldess of, Paul's clearest and and plainest words?

    Re: Flu shot

Thanks for sharing this article Dad. Besides my hesitance on the ingredients of flu vaccine, now another reason I am skeptical is because of the evidence (or lack of) that it may not even work.

Well I am suffering from the flu now - I'm recovering. It so far has been pretty mild, but it is DEFINITELY the flu and not a cold.
