    Double Predestination and Equal Ultimacy

This 30 minute video is a teaching on Double Predestination. A false teaching of Double Predestination. Six minutes and 30 seconds into the video he attacks Equal Ultimacy. How does one actually believe in Double Predestination and reject Equal Ultimacy? He also teaches the God passively hardens hearts and common grace. I say he does not really believe in Double Predestination.

Does he create a straw man argument against Equal Ultimacy? I say yes.

Does he offer any Scriptural evidence for God hardening hearts by passive means? I say no.

Does he offer any Scriptural evidence that refutes Equal Ultimacy? I say no.

    Your thoughts and comments.

Isa 45:7 I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.

Rom 8:18-21, (NASB), For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory that is to be revealed to us. For the anxious longing of the creation waits eagerly for the revealing of the sons of God. For the creation was subjected to futility, not willingly, but because of Him who subjected it, in hope that the creation itself also will be set free from its slavery to corruption into the freedom of the glory of the children of God.

What else can he do if he's too stupid to acknowledge Isaiah 45:7?

Does he offer any Scriptural evidence for God hardening hearts by passive means? I say no.
    Nope.

    I agree.

It's apparent that his "opinions" are just that. Also, he's a nincompoop.

Nincompoop -n A silly, foolish or stupid person. One deficient in judgment and good sense.

A pure and chaste freewillist of the Reformed (i.e, ARMINIAN) variety and he's as proud to be one as any other teacher that has ever existed in history. Here is your example of a typical Reformed scholar.

This teacher can give no examples of 'hyper-Calvinist' teachers, either in past history or at present. He cannot name any hyper-Calvinist churches. Hyper-Calvinism is a straw man that he has invented (as have all Reformed scholars). Of course, they can name a legion of 'Arminian' churches and theologians (in actual fact, they are ALL Arminians themselves!).

I don't agree that he is an idiot, stupid, or even a nincompoop. He is smart and knows what he is teaching and the implications thereof. He HATES the doctrine of a sovereign God with a determination that is invincible--purely from the standpoint of his own demonic wisdom. He HATES the doctrine of predestination and does nothing but apologize for what he feels he is compelled to reluctantly acknowledge. Typical Reformed paradoxical gobbledygook.

    Review his doctrine:

    1. People go to damnation because they choose to (the Bible teaches that persons go to damnation against their desires).
    2. God does not intervene in the lives of the non-elect to make them wicked (the Bible teaches that many are fashioned unto dishonor by God from eternity).
    3. God reprobates (hardens) by DOING NOTHING. We are supposed to believe that God's hardening of reprobate hearts means that He does nothing towards the reprobate.
    4. God only receives glory in the salvation of the elect, not in the positive damnation of the reprobate.
    5. The doctrine of predestination is not easy to explain in simple terms (denies the simplicity of God's revelation in scripture).
    6. God's grace is common and universal IN THIS LIFE (denies the present wrath of God revealed toward reprobates).
    7. He has no desire to be pigeon-holed as a Calvinist or Arminian! Because he is a pure Arminian.

If wicked acts are performed by the reprobate 'by themselves' independent of God's direct and positive hardening, God did not predestine those specific acts. Therefore God does not predestine all things. Hence this scholar and all of his Reformed colleagues are free-willists who deny sovereign predestination.

Now see here how sleepy-headed all our opponents are, and how little it helps a man to rely on the ancient fathers, for all their repute down the course of the ages! Were they not all equally blind to, yes, and heeldess of, Paul's clearest and and plainest words?

This is one that really angers me. I've often been accused of making everything SO complicated. But what's funny is my five year old can explain the Gospel pretty well. I had no problem teaching my 5 year old son the Gospel.

What's funny is I've been told my Gospel is MEAN. Well, when I taught it to my five year old, he had no problems with it. He can say, "some people go to heaven, and some people go to hell."

When asked why some people go to hell, guess what his answer is? "Because God wants them to."

He gets it. He is 5 - F-I-V-E. He understands imputation of Christ's righteousness. I asked him, why do some people go to heaven? He answers, "because we are GOOD." I then ask why we are good?. His response? "Because of Jesus."

Wow Wow Wow. The Gospel is so simple a five year old can understand and articulate it!!!! Praise God for his wisdom and simple message. What's funny (and should not be surprising) is these "reformed" preachers understand LESS about God than my 5 year old son!
Ditch the Garbage! - Too many people are proud of their humility - I, on the other hand, am not humble - and am proud of it!

"Luther's New Testament was so much multiplied and spread by printers that even tailors and shoemakers, yea, even women and ignorant persons who had accepted this new Lutheran gospel, and could read a little German, studied it with the greatest avidity as the fountain of all truth. Some committed it to memory, and carried it about in their bosom. In a few months such people deemed themselves so learned that they were not ashamed to dispute about faith and the gospel not only with Catholic laymen, but even with priests and monks and doctors of divinity." - A complaint by German humanist Johann Cochlaeus.
