Bible prophecy predictions, especially the date setting of Christ’s return has been around for quite some time.
Christ even warns His followers not to take heed to such false ministers and predictions.
This rapture, end time, and return of Christ frenzy has reached another pinnacle in our current day.
This frenzy seems to peak then subside, then a few years later peak again. It is very cultish in my opinion. Most assuredly very profitable for book sellers and authors.
Everyone who belongs to this cult like prophesy frenzy want to be the ones who think they really have some special gift or calling in this regard. They end up making fools of themselves.
When the year 1000 AD was approaching, certain sects within Christianity the chialists we’ll call them, believed in a 1000 literal year interpretation of Revelation Ch:20.
Many years prior to 1000 AD they looked at certain signs around them, mainly socio/politico, and religious. These signs to some signaled the return of Christ.
This frenzy was not at all a worldwide event but rather confined mainly to then European Monarchs and their subject peoples.
Some believed 1000 AD was the year, and others 1033 AD. starting the timetable from Christ’s death on the cross.
Those who were caught up in this frenzy sold their possessions to merit favor and acceptance with God, and gave monies to the Church. Some gave away all their possessions to the Church.
Of course they were wrong. Many committed suicide. Some rebelled against the Church. And for the most part, some of the rest of them just started all over again as Atheists and Agnostics
We must ask ourselves why God would raise up and cause false prophets to deceive mankind?
The answer lies in the fact that God glorifies Himself in all of this. God is in control. He has a purpose in the deception of non-elect mankind.
Don’t worry about Camping’s current blunder. It’s not the first time nor will it be the last time as long as God keeps Him on this earth.
He is in good company with the following prognosticators.

Maybe we should all enlist the services of Punxsutawney Phil to tell us when Christ will return.
Maybe the groundhog will get it right this time. LOL
The list is not complete by any means. There are many more currently out there. Known or unknown, popular or not popular who want to make predictions. They will forever be with us till the day the Lord returns. As of that day and hour only God knows for sure.
In Love,
Nicholas
