Are you sure I'm not just a roman Catholic trying to "infultrate" non-catholic circles? =)

    Paulinator,
I have seldom met a person with more desire to know the truth than you. I glad you are here even if it all is a “Catholic Plot”

Re: The 'Author of Sin' Rebellion

Romans 9 says nothing about God being the author of sin.

We have covered the 'author of sin' issue extensively in the infra vs. supra thread. Not only does Rom. 9 say nothing at all on this question, all of scripture says nothing at all. This is because scripture does not answer man's questions--but only those which God has elected to ask ON BEHALF OF man. We must not only let God give the answers, we must let God ask the questions.

This question about whether God is the author of sin was asked by Plato in his Republic, not by God at all. So any discussion of it is on Plato's terms. We should not submit to Plato's law but God's.
Now see here how sleepy-headed all our opponents are, and how little it helps a man to rely on the ancient fathers, for all their repute down the course of the ages! Were they not all equally blind to, yes, and heeldess of, Paul's clearest and and plainest words?

    Re: Man's Free Will

"Romans 9 says nothing about God being the author of sin."

You need to read it again:
18 Therefore hath he mercy on whom he will have mercy, and whom he will he hardeneth.
19 Thou wilt say then unto me, Why doth he yet find fault? For who hath resisted his will?
20 Nay but, O man, who art thou that repliest against God? Shall the thing formed say to him that formed it, Why hast thou made me thus?

This hypothetical objector is so accusing God of "making him hardened" [thereby making God the authour of sin in this 'objector's mind...

You know not what you read. Why would any one ask God why he finded fault if it did not have to do with sin???

Notice God does not say that any one was not hardened by Himself, nor that anyi one could resist his will, nor that God Himself in this situation could not find fault!!!
